Hello my name is Anthony Aguilar. I started Rappin in 1996 unda the name SouthSide Prophet. I rapped for the church for years until just recently I was signed unda a secular label. I started slangin secular cds for my label and co produced gansta films. I started drinking all day long and I left the church. My wife was so upset with me that she wanted a divorce at the same time a homie of mine was murdered that i grew up with and put me up as a blood. I started recording ungodly painful songs and felt like all I had was my two babygirls. God started convicting me to love my wife months ago. A pastor friend of mine gave me a cd from Richie Righteous. I sat on it until God started moving in my life. After listening to it I wanted what he talked about on the cd, about his famliy. He was saying every thing about his famliy and our famliy lives had so much in common with the exception of happiness, two girls a rapper stay at home dad I worked nights the songs about his famliy made me so convicted. I wanted to chase my wife even more I cleared my shuffle and only put Richie Righteous on it for nights. The cd made me cry. It made me call out to God so intensly, I took my secular music off my page and Im not going to turn in a secular project to my label. Me and my wife are doing better, we went to church last Sunday and i started writting godly songs. I thank our Lord Jesus Christ for the faithfulness of His servant, and Richie Righteous Id like to thank you for being there when I was hurting so bad. May our Lord bless your ministry and your famliy I love you brother.

Kingdom Minded..Interview with CEO of KingdomTime ENT.

www.RR.com: What's up? Thank you for talking with us. Tell the people who is Minister Marcus?

Minister Marcus: Minister Marcus is just another sinner who has been saved by grace who God chose to serve Him. I’m a husband and father of five and a very hard working man. That’s who I am…On the other hand , I’m known as the founder of the Higher Calling outreach concert which started in 2007, the CEO of the Kingdom Choice Awards, and the CEO of Kingdom Time Entertainment.

www.RR.com: Tell us about the events you got coming up in the future? The Higher Calling and the Kingdom Choice awards?

Minister Marcus: Well “The Higher Calling” will be taking place on Sunday August 1st at its usual location which is Herbert Von King Park in Brooklyn, New York. I believe it will be a great event as always and we will see more new ministers this year, especially from other states. The Kingdom Choice Awards will be taking place on Saturday October 30th at the Kumble Theater which is located on the LIU campus in the downtown section of Brooklyn , New York. I’m anticipating a sold out event and we’re planning to do it even bigger than the last one which was great.

www.RR.com: Recently you been on the GL Live Tour. Tell us what your thoughts are on that and what that was like?

Minister Marcus: The GL Live tour was a awesome experience and it was a privilege to tour with one of the leading rap ministers in the US, my man Richie Righteous. It was a special moment because I’ve always believed that New York had some awesome ministers who never seemed to get the props that they deserved. So when Richie landed in the UK as being the first official New York gospel rapper to do it, and shut down the tour the way he did , it was a proud moment for the east coast. The UK artists were awesome as well, they have some great artists over there and I love how they worship and the UK crowd was one of the liveliest I’ve seen. Also I give much respect to Roger Moore and the Gospel Link family, they treated us very well and they did everything in a spirit of excellence.

www.RR.com: You and the GL Live family have come together to put a mixtape out. Tell us about that?

Minister Marcus: Well after going on the GL Live tour and seeing all of the amazing UK artists and knowing all of the awesome artists we have in New York. I thought it would be a good idea for Kingdom Time Ent and Gospel Link 360 to come together and pull together artists from the UK and US to collaborate on a mixtape. When I presented the idea to Roger Moore, he was down with it and we started to work on it immediately. DJ Tony Tone was very excited about the project and did a great job mixing volume 1 and I know volume 2 is off the meter!

www.RR.com: Tell us about Kingdom Time Entertainment.?

Minister Marcus: Kingdom Time Ent is multi media company that provides a variety of services predominantly to the urban gospel fraternity. We do entertainment promotion, artists management, artist promotion, video production, etc. The vision is to help lighten the load on struggling urban gospel movement by providing services at an affordable rate and to serve the movement in excellence. We intend to launch our record company some time in the near future and we are believing God for major label status. He is able!

www.RR.com: What do you think of Gospel Rap right now?

Minister Marcus: Gospel rap has come a long way from where it used to be. Honestly, I myself used to think gospel rap was so wack it was unbelievable. And the truth is, that it was wack! And because of that, anybody in church, as wack as the were, could be a gospel rapper . But now the movement has changed dramatically, because of the quality of the music that is now being produced by gospel rappers, it has shifted out the totally wack people and put the not so good ones in their box. So now we have a lot of great gospel rappers who are, in my opinion, way better than the secular rappers who ain’t saying anything in their music. The only thing the secular rappers have over gospel rappers is financial power, and I believe God will change that in due season. On the other hand, I see some negative things that I don’t like. One of the things I see more regular now is rap ministers who don’t know how to minister. They can rap, but they can’t minister and that’s a huge problem because what God has called them to do goes way beyond the music. The music is the bait and the platform in which to minister but I’m afraid that we’re giving birth to a generation of rappers who just call themselves ministers, when we should be seeing a generation of ministers who rap! So that’s definitely something we all need to pray about.

www.RR.com: Any final words for the readers.. Words of encouragement.. and anything else you would like to tell us.?

Minister Marcus: “Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you” (Matthew 6:33)
